When Didio came in 2002 as Vice President-Editorial (his meager experience in the comic was to make animated series based on some comic book characters, the most notable being the Fairy Godmother Jill Thompson. It customary in the business world to hire people outside the business to bring new ideas that are not tainted by experience. Didio had been flawed from the factory.
Didio in 2004 amounted to Vice President-Executive Director (Executable should be). His greatest achievement was signing the bestseller Brad Meltzer to write scripts Identity Crisis, a work rather than drinking but it neatly sums up the two main characteristics of Didio as Editor: death as a dramatic device and overexploitation of the past.

is obsessed with Didio death. To kill characters. As if death were the only dramatic action possible. As if death was not as dramatic appeal a joke for years. A ridiculous joke in the case of DC. The "seven majors" DC, ie the first components of the JLA (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Flash (Barry Allen), Green Lantern (Barry Allen) and Aquaman) have all died! But is that the eighth member, Green Arrow died too!

During these years has obscured the DC universe based on drama and death. For his limited mind, the opposite of drama is comedy. If you want drama you have to eliminate the comedy, and its mission, as we saw in the previous post, has been to eliminate the characters of the JLA and Young Justice, two of the most fresh and funny series of DC in recent decades.
Identity Crisis In begins the string of deaths of the Justice League and besides, the title is a bold claim to megahits than twenty years ago, having nothing to do with it. is a pity that the DC Universe works well. It takes many doing it for years and no one to fix it. Half of the stories create problems and the other half tries to solve them. Wit: die in Infinite Crisis Superboy (at the hands of Superboy Prime, an irony acceptable) and Bart Allen dies after having grown rapidly and check that the result is a fudge. And you have to invent a story, Legion of Three Worlds, that not only fix this, quite false, but the way put some order in all the mess of legions who have mounted DC.
And as ridiculous is the string of deaths in the DC Universe that have to invent another miniseries, The Darkest Night, not only to resurrect the dead, but to justify why no one is deceased. And the idea is not bad. Johns, of course.
But is that just no way. So the universe does not move, does not evolve, does not matter. It's a step forward and one back. And no intention to fix it, the next release after The Darkest Night promise miniseries Justice League (Lost Generation) in which the characters investigate why they killed so many members of the Justice League ! Worse, recent rumors tell of changes to the editorial staff of DC after Warner has decided to monitor more closely its publishing comics. To avoid possible dismissal Didio was thinking of the possibility of creating sequels and prequels Watchmen. "Looking to the future? Why?
Yet another example of that look to the past and the constant need to solve problems instead of telling good stories. Another problem is the multiply DC Universe characters with the same name: Green Lanterns, Green Arrows, Flashes, ... Much death, so much death but in the end, as always just rising, we have to substitute (s) and original making war at once, because no one dares to retire older characters, not even 67 years. Well, wait a myriad of stories trying to fix the issue. Example: one of the archers you have torn his arm. A goalkeeper less? Bah, back shooting arrows with his teeth, sure.
Didio is hateful. Didio hate. That give Didio. But now.
